Aevum’s Wish List - How we all get Geared! Empty Aevum’s Wish List - How we all get Geared!

Our guild is striving to put in place head start guides and release plans, a guild barter system, a guild bank, and to identify/deconflict guild gatherers and crafters.  These are outstanding efforts that should set our ArcheAge family up for success.  However, I feel there is one more effort we need to identify.

We all know how much of a grind this game has to get decent crafted gear for end-game.  With the substantial grind of creating high level (lvl 44 and 50+) armor, weapons and accessories; most of our guild crafters frequently acquire items with sets and stats that were undesired from the requestor or crafter.  In these cases, the item is worn with the undesired stats or it is sold for a profit on the Auction House… However, what is undesirable for one build; is pure gold for another.  So I am proposing a system where our crafters and their sponsors record and store there “unintended” crafts for a brief time before attempting to sell it for a profit.

This system is three parts:
A localized storage location
A forum thread
A method of payment for the cost of construction/materials

The Process:
It begins with all of our members posting to a thread and detailing the Top stat combination/set that they require for the Main character.  For instance:

<Duskwhisper> Stone Arrow, level 50+ equipment (preferred quality blue or higher)
Armor
Leather – Squall Set
Need: Head, chest, wrists, hands, waist, legs, feet

Weapon
Bow – Gale Set (Squall or Mist also acceptable)
Katana/Short Spear – Gale Set (Squall or Mist also acceptable)
Shield – Earth set

Accessories
Ring (2) – Gale Set
Ear (2) – Gale Set
Neck – Earth Set

When a piece of gear is produced that was undesired either by the requestor of the item or by the crafter creating it, they can reference the forum post.  If it is posted as being desired by another guild member, the crafter places it in a bank or chest for a period of 1-2 weeks.  The crafter notifies the correct member that there set was produced and provides the individual an associated price.  This price IS NOT the market value of the item on the AH, it IS INSTEAD the cost of materials for construction.

The individual is given 1-2 weeks to render payment to the crafter before they can take possession of the Item in question.  Or they can negotiate an extended waiting period and/or payment plan; however, all members involved must agree and would be on a case-by-case basis.

This “payment” allows the crafter or the original item requestor to purchase the same amount of materials again, and thus have a “free” second attempt at creating the desired item.  This process repeats until all of our Mains are geared.  As individuals receive the desired gear, they edit their original post, deleting the items received form there wish list.

If after 2 weeks, no guild payment is made.  The original requestor and/or crafter are then able to list the item on auction for a profit.  To increase the likely hood that payment will be made, the crafter can notify all members who posted a request for that item/set.  And the item will be given to the first individual to respond with the listing price.

The advantage is that if we work together, we can gear our members in a fraction of the time and for a fraction of the cost than if we all try to do it separately.  The disadvantage is that we will be limiting profits in the early phases of the systems operation.  However, profits will increase as more individuals find themselves with the gear they requested.

If this system proves itself a success and our guild likes the process, we can discuss using it to gear off-builds and Alts.  However; I will strongly advocate that players only be allowed to gear Alts and off-build after our Mains are geared (by stat/set selections).

What do we all think?

This is a great idea, and sort of an add-on to the "guild bank" system that we will be discussing in the meeting today. Please feel free to raise it at at the meeting, there should be an opportunity.
